1124 is backstory chapter with a title.

Considering half a page of Kuzan and Garp made for a five minute flashback in the anime with beautiful animation I think you’ll probably get like 10 for Kizaru.

Me when I misread a character and then get mad when everyone I argued with online is right.
Y’all have no right to meme on Kaido for only getting half a chapter of backstory when all that Kizaru got was half a page of backstory…

It is not about the flashback's length, Kaido simply has no character, and all hopes of redemption depended on a decent flashback
Kizaru's character was fleshed out the entire arc, every scene was telling of what's going in his mind. Then we reach the culmination of his character arc in Egghead with the phone call with Akainu

Also Kaido’s flashback is literally:
I was small.
I was medium.
I was big.

Kizaru’s flashback is a catalyst for him breaking down shows the moment he met Vegapunk and started building Egghead.

It’s incomparable characterwise

Oda forgot to draw any actual chemistry between Kizaru and Vegapunk. Why should I care about their offscreen friendship?

Kizaru’s entire backstory: Carrying around some logs for Vegapunk.

Y’all are beyond parody. Whatever an Admiral does is automatically peak fiction because they’re an Admiral and whatever a Yonko does is generic slop because they’re a Yonko.
The problem is that you don’t actually understand the difference between good vs bad and fleshed out vs not fleshed out and depth vs no depth

Your dumbass started crying that admiral fans liked Greenbull despite “lacking depth” like Big Mom when the criticism of Big Mom was never depth and that she was a poorly written amnesiac plot device that ruined two entire arcs back to back.

Same thing is happening here. “Wooah look guys Kizaru’s backstory is short and so is Kaido’s but they don’t like Kaido’s woahhh”

It just goes to show the levels to reading comp

The problem with you fans you want every character have a forced sad backstory

Kaido's backstory is okay
He was never meant to be some pitful dude nor a very deep character

Lmao how is Kizaru’s friendship with Vegapunk fleshed out in any way? The golden rule of writing is show, don’t tell. Oda pretty much only ever told us Vegapunk is Kizaru’s best friend for some reason, and barely ever showed them actually interacting as friends. It’s funny because Sentomaru and Kizaru actually had a much better written friendship dynamic despite it being much less relevant to the story

i dont think they're much fleshed out yet, not completely, fujitora we already know his deal even coming later

both kizaru and aokiji will have a final moment of defining their character

Kizaru i expect him to follow his heart instead of the orders

Aokiji will bea matter between Garp and BB, when garps life is on risk

but i dunno, oda seems rushing after wasting too much time in wano

Sentomaru/Kizaru/Vegapunk/etc is all one single character dynamic

To be honest the phone call was kind of underwhelming to me. Like yeah he yelled at Akainu a bit but it's still kind of a bland ending to the whole killing Vegapunk thing considering how much it tormented him mentally and made him stress and wonder if it was right. He should have rebelled against the Gorosei even if it was in a subtle, small way.

Again it was never about backstories, Crocodile has no flashbacks yet he shits on 99.9% of OP characters
Kaido is just hot garbage, people were hoping a flashback might fix it but he just grew even more retarded
Yeah Admirals (except GB) have hype and aura, which can be more than enough to make someone an interesting and memorable character. For example, Sukuna had no backstory but is still one of the most popular villains in new gen anime. However, Admirals fans for some reason feel the need to act like Admirals are more than just hype and aura merchants. Y’all act like they’re these really complexly written characters when they’re just not.

They’re complex FOR OP

The admirals are good guys that unknowingly work for the bad guys.

That simple fact on its own is enough to make them the most complex characters in OP

Kaido’s backstory is awful and his character is bad
I wouldn’t say that his character is bad, he‘s just a blood warrior. He’s supposed to be interesting through his strength and badass moments.

BM is arguably Oda’s best written OG yonko (if we forget about the deus ex machina shit in Wano) with depth and a good character conclusion but nobody will say that she’s automatically a better character than Kaido.

Both BM and Kaido are poor characters
