He didn't "have to use" shit, it was literally a pity attack from Saitama so that Boros could save some face for how utterly Saitama was humiliating him, and that attack not only effortlessly erased Boros strongest attack which takes up all his energy but also turned him into a mummified corpse, it was overkill by orders of magnitude.

Boros’ ultimate attack was literally stated that it can wipe off the surface of the planet. That would kill roughly about an infinite number of Kaidous lined up in a neat position, give or take. Saitama’s serious punch kills an infinite+1 number of Kaidous.
