Fact is that multiple factors played a role that Luffy and co survived...
Starting with Kizaru literally helping Luffy out, that is a big factor, if he wouldn´t, Luffy wouldn´t recover so fast.

Means Kizaru was clearly hoping that Vegapunk and Bonney somehow survive with Luffy help.
That is factor one.

Factor two is, the giants, without there help, the navy and elders would run over Luffy and the strawhats.
Luffy literally got saved by Brogy and Dorry, two Elders already been enough for Luffy.


Dorry and Brogy worth together over 3.6B, just sink it..
Like it or not, both are at least low top tiers, without them, Luffy would get rekt by 3Elders.

In fact later in most time only Warcury fought Luffy,Dorry and Brogy and they couldn´t stop him and need to run away...



Without the help of them, Luffy would get roasted by 3 elders alone.
It pretty clear even a Yonkou lvl dude didn´t had much chance vs the elders...

And later Emeth saved them again.
Without Emeth, they still would die, even with the giants on their side...

If the elders decide to invade wano, no one could stop them, not even Kaido.
5 elders with all Holy knights would murder any yonkou crew.
