Wyper took out the strongest Priest, Shura, IMO, blew up the Giant Jack, and technically "killed" Enel before Enel used his Fruit to revive his heart.

Wyper also fought Luffy to a stalemate.

I could see Oda bringing him in at the EOS at a high level.

Sun god was a last minute addition and i don't care what Oda's dickriders say
Kaido's motivation was in something else then Oda decided to pull this regarded Nika shit and changed his motive last minute.

The annihilation of Lunarians may have taken place during the 1st destruction of the world and the current WG has had nothing to do with it. The Red Line and Grand Line may be a result of those 2 destructions, yes but there is also a conflict in timeline...
The choice of base being top of the Red Line still sounds to me as something done by those who fear water and the rumored Sea God.
