Kaidou’s a blood warrior who’s looking for a battle to kill him yet he was fine tricking Oden. He contradicts himself by ever going along Orocohi’s plan. After getting scarred, he could have let Oden go and recover then ask for a rematch, but no. He knows he might lose lol

Oda just genuinely confused Kaido and Orochis characters somehow. It makes no sense at all for Kaido to act like how he did in that flashback, even going as far to say Oden had none of the ¨old Kozuki dignity¨. Be honest, that makes no sense for him to say. Oda was tired after doing the Roger laughed chapter and wanted to move on to strawhats fighting people and his movie about Shanks having a live streamer daughter or whatever
