Loki should not fight for any side once he's released. He should give the hands to the HK's and the crew. That's why pairing him up with Kid fits so well. Both are Shanks victims and hate him, so they won't fight for Luffy because he jerks of to Shanks and surely not his twin because his face is trigger enough.

Yeah, Shanks should've been a gray (but ultimately good) character willing to play ball, for his own means and agenda. Say like Aokiji for example. But too complicated for Oda to execute I guess, plus Oda's self insert.
