The most interesting part to me is that Shanks never really explained to Blackbeard why he cared about Teach. He just did. Whitebeard actually got angry and attacked him because he has no idea why some guy half his age is trying to tell him what to do. And guess what, Shanks was totally right, and if WB listened marineford would have never happened.
