So I assume the first world war was about sealing away the serpent. They managed to do that and then Joyboy would've freed it as a result of his destruction but the King's prevented that from happening.

In this case current day Imu and the earth God may not have the same goal.

I think the earthgod/Imu and the serpent are on the same side vs the rest.

Uranus and Poseidon are supposed to be named after gods.. That's the only one I can think of but it's probably nothing and just reference to real world gods... Other than that all other gods are fake in one piece..

For what it's worth, Robin talked about a "Age of Heaven" way back at Alubarna, and apparently the world is now in the "Age of the Sea Circle".

The change happened a little less then 1600 years before Luffy set out, so logic would dictate this is probably when it first happened.

I know it gets repetitive to hate/bash on them.

But despite the buildup they had, one of them being a villain in two arcs, and the other one being the main villain in the longest arc.

Kaido and Big Mom at the end of the day really felt like filler characters.

Shanks, Blackbeard, the Admirals, Imu and the Five Elders, Dragon, and the Warlords are all going to play a major role when the series comes even closer to the end.

Even Loki who was introduced during this arc, is most likely going to play a major role at the end as well.

Same thing with Enel if he does return.


Unless Oda somehow brings back Kaido and Big Mom and has them team up with Luffy.

I'm not sure about that. Like I said I don't believe that the 20 King's were necessarily evil. More like they knew how the world was before and managed to cook up a system that works and were scared from Joyboy setting them back by releasing whatever haunted the world in the earlier days.

One of the things that kind of kill the ''Imu received the immortality surgery'' theory is that he can seemingly give others power and render them immortal. I think the immortality surgery is an obvious red herring at this point and Oda hates being predictable.

He did say he is internalizing all the anger and hatred to channel it all into destroying the world. And by now, his hatred for shamrock and gunko should be insanely high lol.

Based on the series title "One Piece", and Luffy's overall character/ideals/demeanor, I think it's likely Luffy breaks the cycle through unification/understanding, rather than violence/dominion.

Looking more and more like talk-no-jutsu end, as Luffy's never tried to kill his enemies.

Lily wasn't with the WG. She betrayed them and spread the poneglyphs. The other nefertari members might not have known about it at the time. But learned from the Lily letter. So they refused to join the other CDs after the war was over and 20 kingdoms won.

Yeah that's the problem, Alabasta wouldn't be present normally if that was the case..... Imu would have killed the traitor kingdom.. But none think of them as traitors just allied who preferred to not join CD.
So my guess is it's retcon.. Obviously with the whole nefertari being D... But only few joined and officially the whole army was with 20 Kingdoms
