For me the Shiki vibe is because of the kasa hat and stripped kimono robe. Shiki always wore japanese themed clothes be it in chapter 0, strong world and Rocks flashback
The little we saw of Gaban he always wore western themed clothes.
I guess nothing prevent him from changing style as he grew older, but it's funny he adopted a japanese aesthetic when he has been living in the land of vikings

The mural really can lead to different sets of interpretations. There are two perspectives to it, one is power scaling and the other is narrative and lore and what can the future hold. I will address the power scaling one later. The mural has two sides and the basic interpretation is that the one on the right depicts the first world and the first war and the one one the left depicts the second world and second war. These are events that have happened in the past and are recorded like this.

The first part has three main parties (or four depending on interpretation). The two dragons breathing fire, the ark with the king (the crown and silhouette resembles Imu a little) and the technologically advanced civilization. The human/robot part greatly resembles the Birkan drawings. Sometimes the animals are used to show civilizations or factions. So the two dragons can either be mythical DF users, literal monsters or be used as representatives of clash of civilizations. The western winged dragon against the eastern dragon (Kaidos). Adding context from the Harley text about the first world and it can be interpreted as the Birkans/Skypeians came to earth for the flame/resources. The desire of mankind for power lead to creation of DFs by using forbidden technology. The power struggle lead to enslavement of people who started praying and they got Nika. Appearance of Nika enraged the enslavers (who are the kings of the world or the deity of Earth). The deity of Earth brought Serpent of Hell Flame (deity of Earth constructed Red Line) and fought Nika and his faction. Total destruction of world ensued which resulted in rise of sea levels and the reason why ark was made and is depicted. In this part the winged western dragon may actually be Nika while the eastern dragon is the Serpent of Hell Flame.

The second part has two parties, JB and his allies and the winged shadow with the horns. This is much easier to interpret as it depicts two factions going against each other. We have actually three deitys: deity of Earth (First World), deity of Forest (2nd World) and deity of Sea (2nd World). There is no deity of Sun. I think all deities represent leaders/kings. Deity of Sea is poseidon and the rampage is due to the loss of JB in the war. I think Imu is the deity of Forest and depicted with the winged human dragonaid giant shadow. JB (the Sun) was spreading revolutions like Dragon currently (or Flame Emperor). People of half moon and people of moon seeing dreams is vague (maybe they had prophecies and why Toki jumped forward in time) while people of moon are literally Lunarians and were on brink of extinction etc.. Men becoming gods is literal kings becoming CDs after defeating JB. The rampage of poseidon is because of JBs loss and why he wrote that letter of apology.

From my understanding JB and his faction were the ones who inherited the ancient kingdom from First World. While Imu and the rest were the followers/faction of the diety of Earth and both sides have been fighting for supremacy ever since the moon people came to earth and settled/mingled with one faction. One thing I find interesting is that Zou is not shown anywhere on the mural in either world while we are shown Ancient Giants, giants, minks, lunarians (I think right above JB) and even Emeth.

The part of troubled shadow remembering is obviously Imu remembering his old foes reincarnated but him listening to the sounds of the fragmented Moon is disturbing, if BB here represents the Moon then does it mean that BB and Imu might actually join up.
