Well sure that's my point lol. Luffy travels around the world and meets different types of islands. Some ruined by pirates some ruined by the WG. I don't agree with simply saying OP is about fighting WG oppression, that's an aspect for sure, but its about generally fighting for freedom. Characters like Croco are simply pirate villains despite being warlords imo, they did make a contract with the WG, but they didn't follow it without the WG knowing(when the truth came out, the Marines arrested Croco pretty quickly, though with Doffy its more complicated). Blackbeard can be final villain because he has ambitions of ruling the world, while Luffy wants to be the most free in the world.

Yes, well this was my point. One Piece is story about freedom, not about pirates overall. So storywise I don't see the reason why Oda has to steal victory over Imu's regime from Luffy and give him small victory against BlackBeard. BB with all his plans just can't even put the world into opression and build regime like Imu did. If this was just half of story then yes BB was able to became the final villain, but it's not.
Yep. Several of Imu’s servants could wipe out most of the BB pirates crew members by themselves.
Any of the 4 Admirals, the immortal Gorosei, presumably Shamrock will be a top tier, Kong if he hasn’t expired at his desk…

OK, without Aokiji Garp was able to solo half of BB crew and this is not a joke. Whatever you guys believe Oda didn't build BB as the final villain of the series. Even in the last chapter whole hype was build near Imu and Holy Knights. You can argue but Gunko is probably stronger then any of BB jobbers. Why Oda made BB team so weak? Because BB is not the final villain. He is not build to be the Final Villain. Teach alone was bleeding from fight against Law. This not look good for him.

BB pirates also have so little thought put into their dfs. Like strong strong fruit or giant giant? Just making strong guy stronger and big guy bigger. These are such throwaway characters for so called "final villains". Even Shiryu, just got absaloms df.
Compare that to just the creativity of Gunko using her arrow arrow fruit. Oda clearly cares about 1 more than the others.

I feel his crew will be what gets him powerful enough to go solo against anyone. I think he chose them for that, at least the original crew. Lafitte will absolutely lose against Sanji or whoever when time comes, but if he got BB his third ancient weapon a week before that, well...
