Kizaru can't be in danger by the sheer fact that we don't know his limits. We only have mentally conflicted Kizaru's showings. Kaido showed it all. He's threatened.

Ngl this increases the chances. But my biggest issue wasn't necessarily the gap between Luffy and Sanji, my issue was the gap between their opponents.

There have been arcs where the gap between Luffy Zoro Sanji are quite small, but Oda always gives Luffy an opponent who can solo Zoro and Sanji's opponents without much trouble. This won't change I'm quite certain of it. So if this scenario takes place Oda has fully abandoned the new recruits, he might give Akainu awakening while leaving them without it, which leads to Akainu being massively stronger than them. That's the only way it happens.

If Kizaru and Aokiji were still under Akainu this would be impossible. Fujitora and Greenbull leave a small chance of this possibility open, because we don't really know the true gap between them and Akainu outside of having faith in the Admiral title and how it is portrayed (4 Admiral to 4 Emperors at all times; Marineford Admirals being on the same level, Greenbull and Fuji implied to be on the same lvl).
