For me Garp's backstory was the most exciting thing this chapter. We now know he refuses to be an admiral so he's not under the Celestial Dragons' thumbs. So the fact that he doesn't like them could mean one day he might fight with Luffy or even Dragon. He fought alongside Roger, not just against him. But that also means Roger fought to save the CD's too! Which is pretty wild to me. Maybe that's why Shanks can talk to them? Or was it the Gorosei? Anyway. Maybe that's why it's not priority number one to kill the Roger Pirates who actually know the true history? I've always wondered why they went so far as to buster call Ohara for studying the true history but they don't seem to care that the Roger Pirates actually know it. I wonder if Garp knows the true history too? So excited!

They did care Roger Pirates knew it, and were hunting them down. Even people remotely related to Roger like his girlfriend and son... to this date Rayleigh has a bounty after 22 years of inactivity. Reason as well why Buggy never bragged about been on Roger’s ship and didn’t want the people to know he will be hunting down by the WG.

I got the sense they did that because he was the PK not because he knew the true history. I mean after his death they seemed to just leave them alone. You could argue Shanks and Rayleign are too strong but Buggy was made a warlord and Crocus was just hanging out at Reverse Mountain. They actively hunted Robin for 20 years, who was just a kid to begin with, but not Roger's crew?

I am wondering why garp didn't teach advance haki to Luffy. I guess he wanted Luffy to grow by himself.
