I think after Elbaf ends we will get a scene like this with Imu being frustrated at Luffy, especially after him getting in more direct conflict with the WG recently.
I am not that strong of a believer of the whole "Garling will want to usurp Imu" thing but seeing his son get his ass kicked after he has to report his failures could be the seed for that.

I am not sure about Imu, but it doesn't seem like the Gorosei are on the best of terms with Garling. They were also not at the execution of Doffys uncle

Nah Garling is depicted as the very worst of all, a monster with no regard for human life just like the rest of the Gorosei except that he is also a celestial dragon. Garling is a mass murdering psychopath who keeps human slaves to rxpe and slaughter for his own entertainment, and more importantly he fights actively against good people who are trying to stop him.
Villains can have conflict among themselves

The fact that you think Oda would ever spend that much time elaborating on the minuscule inscrutable details of the fighting style of a minor character as opposed to just progressing the plot just shows that you read too much trash like JJK where there is no plot and only technical explanations of combat styles

Even now as the soulless puppeteered corpse that he currently is, Oda has never wasted time delving this deep into the technicalities of a fighting style lol.

Seriously the part where Gaban explains he has always been good with a variety of weapons but doesn’t touch swords is just so awful lmfao.

Chapter starts with imformation on Gaban and how he is good at what seems to be an akido fighting style incorporating kicks as well. He is capable of handling most weaponary with his speciality being Axes. However he has always refused using swords as he notes that Rayleigh is the one that perfected fighting with a sword and that he won't be as gifted as Rayleigh in that regard.:pepecopium:
This cope reeks of desperation. :Smug_Ki:

He mentions to luffy that even though he was below rodger and Rayleigh, he was also not one to be trifled with, after all he was still the left hand of the pirate king rodger.

Again rubbish. Oda has always went out ofbhis way to show the fighting style of characters. FYI swordsmanship is also a fighting style. Secondly never once stated that he will elaborate on it. Stated if you know English that his fighting style is akin to a real world fighting style akido. Simple. No long drawn out explanation from the author himself.

Yes the fact that he is great all around with weaponary also make sense with him not picking up a blade adds to the fact that he considered it to be a :Rayleigh and rodger thing". Dude wanted to be different

I know what Aikido is. And none of those weapons are axes, now are they?
But all of those weapons are short blades or short wooden weaponary aren't they? Gabans Axes fit both of those criteria simultaneously

No. A tanto is used to stab. A battle axe is to cleave. Also the weight is different.
