Kaido is a roided up super Oni with TB speed and CoC. Humans even with CoC are at base always lesser base Kaidos by default, besides Prime Garp perhaps.
So it begs the question what Scopper can potentially bring to the table, that would make it challenging for Luffy to get the key.
So imo it's either a DF, that I doubt, or a very unexpected ability he makes use of. CoC won't be much of a problem, when both Zoro and Luffy are also CoC users. It's just the new standard at that point.
I'd put my money on some life return type of thing right now. Where he can access super speed and super strength for short moments

- Gunko is already searching for Giant kids to kidnap, Sanji who sensed her shows up to confront her
- Luffy (in base form) tries to grab the key from Gaban, but fails, Gaban is very fast and seems to be using Future Sight
- at the end of the chapter Luffy goes Gear 2 and says he will take that key in the next 10 second

Scopper more precisely says "I would recognize that haki trail everywhere, that is Oden's haki! So that's how you can rival my own parallel Vinsmoke Wanji. He had to destroy his suit while you use someone's else haki and Ryuma genes to stand on his side!"
Brief spoilers, can't incriminate my source:
- the immense haki Gaban felt was from someone familiar, he says
- it is revealed to be Oden's haki
- when Gaban says it vanished Zoro gets a concerned look on his face
- last page, in a beautiful double spread, we see Enma in full detail with the haki button turned off
