Never stated or even implied anywhere. Luffy simply adapted to Kaido's like he does in every fight. Base Luffy went from struggling against Blueno in EL to being able to box with base Lucci (5 times stronger than Blueno based on doriki) and that was before any haki.

And still, Kaido kept blocking and fighting back against most of Luffy's attacks post CoC coating, so overall, if Luffy didn't had ACoC, he would've simply kept getting overpowered on those clashes, and when he did managed to land a hit, it wouldn't hit as hard, giving Kaido even more room to keep attacking without much problems.

I am an objective fan.

Gaban didn't live the hype, I ain't gonna cope and take my fucking L and self embarrass myself. People dislike me because I can look "arrogant" when I am right, but I can also make fun of myself when I know I was fucking wrong.

I dislike how people act "modest" when they are right and I hate how they hide when they are wrong. When I deserved to be laughed at I am gonna be laughed at, when I was the victorious I am gonna laugh at the one who was wrong as well.

That's the person I am.
I hate pretending stuff, I can look extreme in my ways of be but that's how I am, I am gonna be full of myself when it comes to the stuff I am proud of me no faking false modesty when I know I am good and strong at something and I am gonna make a fool out of myself when I find out I was wrong / in the areas I am lacking.

There's no bad look for Gaban this chapter.

But if your expectations were Gaban embarrassing G5 then the fault is obviously on you. Gaban looks good this chapter

Their fight is another of the many fuckeries of Wano. How anticlimatic it was. A real fight with Oden injuring Kaido but Kaido winning with his hybrid form would have been so much better.

I really hope the Gorosei and Imu are actual demons. Devil fruits just aren't as impressive or mysterious anymore. Its not like with Enel, Croc or even Foxy where LOda had to figure out unique and clever ways to beat them while exploiting potential weaknesses. Now anything can just be magically solved by haki. Just look at Law vs Doc Q. I like Law, but holy shit, add haki and the diseases are just magically gone instead of LOda just having Law use his own fruit to 'surgically' remove all traces of the disease or transfer it to other bodies.

To add to this, part of the big appeal of the Yami Yami no Mi was that it was a fruit that could cancel all other fruits. Since haki can already do that more effectively while not making the user more vulnerable to damage, Blackbeard wasted decades on this fruit for a gimmick he could already do with haki, which wouldn't even be introduced until near the end of the pre-TS.
