Now that we are two arcs post Wano it is clear to me Luffy was using AdCoC against Kizaru, we saw it in the opening kick [x], and then when he landed White Star Gun [x]

Oda just won't draw haki sparks all the time if the attack is not doing anything. This was evident in Kaidou vs Gear 5 as well. There were zero visual indicators of Luffy using ACoC against Kaidou unless he was landing attacks on Kaidou.

Take in if Luffy wasn't so weak or reckless, Zoro would not be damaged to the extent he was on the roof. Pretty much all the damage he took was because he needed to protect Luffy
