Idk yall but the lightning trails are exactly the same of CoC coating. There is an empty blank space around them, and there are flaws in the trails (like tiny holes and gaps)

And after the attack lands, we can still see them

I honestly see no difference from this, other than the quality of the image, which certainly affects the details (unofficial panels vs official VIZ)

Also, why did Luffy and Zoro felt so shocked here? They don't have an idea of who the old man is, so what explains such reaction? Perhaps they felt some unsettling aura?

Going a bit further into what Gaban showed this chapter... Did he saw the future here? This would explain he didn't care about dodging, he might've know that once he surrendered, Luffy and Zoro wouldn't try to land their moves on him.

Yes. And yes, Sanji is unlocking CoC
While i acknowledge that during Katakuri vs Luffy, we can see similar trails during Zangiri Mochi, but Katakuri has CoC so he might leak regular CoC during those moves (not CoC coating tho obviously)

Similar when Doflamingo tried to step on Law who was lying on the ground and ended up clashing with Luffy, CoC had something to do with it.

Idk, i would say the odds are 60/50 for Gaban due to Luffy and Zoro's reaction even before he launched his move

I think so, people keep using panels pre adCoC reveal to somehow prove that isn’t and they’re missing the point

Oda likely decided to make those type of haki lightning adCoC only. I can’t think of a single CoA panel with lightning that thick

Either way it doesn’t matter, Waban’s haki is strong to shake Luffy’s boots

The very concept of haki lightning was made up somewhere during Dressrosa. Haki god Shanks flexing his COC or his sky splitting clash with Whitebeard never leaked any single haki sparks. That's why I never bother with old panels when Oda introduces a new concept since the man obviously isn't autistic as we are when it comes to visual consistency in his 27 years long series

Nothing aside from verbal confirmation means anything at this point, cause Loda is so ass with visuals.

Imagine giving same visuals (of lightning) to basic armament that even fodders have, advanced armament that elites fighters have, and advanced conqueror's that define handful of the strongest. Utter failure.

Loda caused too much confusion amongst the readers to the point dudes are micro analyzing lightning thickness, shape, curve etc.
