The crazy thing is, I feel like Gaara during the chunin exams could compare. Was crazy for both to be villains in the same arc
What made Orochimaru also stand out was the level of terror he caused on other characters, how he made the fearless Sasuke become paralyzed with terror in their first encounter and how utterly defeated he and Naruto were during it, it really felt hopeless to fight him. Shame how Kishimoto ruined him after.

Yeah that's fair, when an adult was in the room, like Gai, it felt like Gaara was checked

The second Oda gives me something to discuss, I’ll be happy to discuss it
How about the implications of the parallel between Loki and Luffy as fulfillments of prophecy? Loki’s entire life was colored by a bad interpretation of a prophecy that ended with his wrongful imprisonment. Luffy has also been destined according to prophecy to save the world and be exalted as a god when he wants nothing to do with it. Loki’s aggressive acceptance/surrender to the prophecy and its consequences is a unique foil to Luffy’s ignorance of his true identity and his prophesied future. What do you think of the potential internal conflict Luffy will face when he is being pressured by his friends and family to be the fulfillment of a prophecy he has no knowledge of?
