This is why i detest haki in one piece there is no proper explanation how oden s ryou appeared out of nowhere in scabbards.

Why couldnt they use it 20 years ago when oden died ?

dude this is one piece, only few scars remain significant....for example Luffy got "wounded" many times in the battle but only the scar Akainu gave him remained significant....same for Zoro....Kaido might have wounded several times in his past battles afterall he lost 7 times but only the scar given by Oden remained significant
