It just shows how trash Katakuri is, with his offense being piss poor compared to G4 Luffy and G4 Luffy was able to do fuck all.
It all but confirms Katakuri is a piece of dog turd whose offense is G3 level+ and far below G4 while G4 is shit on by low tier samurais.

Oda used Kong Organ, which has the weakest impact out of any Gear 4 attack to give Kaido fake hype. Even a basic Kong Gun has more impact, since he's putting all his effort into 1 punch.

People wonder why Jinbe looks good against Big Mom and Luffy "bad". It's fake hype. He doesn't want to give Luffy the W with KKG. He always "nerfs" Luffy in the beginning by making him low IQ/conservative.

Yeah CoA certainly seems to have a lot to flesh out in comparison to CoO.
I can see CoA having several lines of progress with weapon coating side of it which peaks at black blade/permanent black weapon and one being pushing your Ryou out which probably peaks at penetration Haki or a level even higher.
