Nothing actually paints him to be an evil guy, you are being misled. From the way he charges in first and interacts with his crew in the Kuma flashback, to the way BM describes him, it’s very Roger-esque. The likes of WB, and Gloriosa also won’t follow an evil dude lol. Xebec was a charismatic leader but his morals are good enough for WB to align himself with.
