Unlike Fujitora, Daz doesn't actually wield a named high ranking blade that he had to tame to his will.
Nor is there any indication of Daz bones training swordsmanship since childhood:

And Oda specifically made it so BB couldn't use the Gura there or else he'd shatter his crew. Hell he couldn't even fight in general there since it was highly likely he'd hit one of his crewmates and shatter them.

Blackbeards shown the willingness to sacrifice his crew for a strong fruit before, BB backed down like that because he knew he couldn’t beat Kuzan.

If Blackbeard can’t at least hold Kuzans attention enough for his crew to escape that’s even more clear.

I mean it's not hard to run from a fight and target someone else for a second. Kizaru did that a lot in Egghead.
And it's not about them being friends, it's about him needing his crewmates so he can become the PK.

It would be hard from someone who’s power involved gravity manipulation and can break apart islands to create a gorge like what WB did.
Theres a difference from immediately inviting someone and literally backing down apologizing cause your crew started a fight.
