Imu really turned Gunko into GUNko.
I'm so glad Goldberg's shield was explained and confirmed to be a homie, even though it was obvious ofc lol. Actually plot relevant too somewhat, surprisingly.

The lore on the new giant pirates in the canon is nice to see and seeing Gerd being plot relevant and getting so much screentime makes me very happy.

Meanwhile the grand fleet have yet to do anything but at least we have Hajrudin and the New Giant Pirates here naturally ofc lol. And well, what happened to Barto too, sigh....

I'd really like Cavendish to return and be plot relevant again. I suspect somehow Imu will be similar to Cavendish and Pudding, although it would be interesting if Xebec were like that too and thus it could relate to Blackbeard as well then.

More after Jinbei's introduction in the arc, and with his death being certain, and Fishman Island doesn't have the same kind of connection with him than BM with Elbaf, an island where her story began and with which she still had some unresolved issues.
Fishman island still has a deep connection with with Whitebeard.

And BMs story with Elbaf is resolved. That’s why we’re focusing on the more important story, Elbafs story with the WG which predates its history with Big Mom by years.

Big Moms gone.

I am far from sure about that, her story and issues with Elbaf weren't properly brought up in the story nor resolved.

They were? She gave up on Elbaf. This is what led her to ultimatley making the deal with Caesar to instead manufacture giants. This was a huge plot point in WCI.

Big Mom and Elbafs stories were already stated to be done back then
Offscreen stuff like that is hardly a resolution to her story and issues with Elbaf. There won't be a proper resolution until we see her and the giants together in the main story.

How is that not a resolution? Both sides agreeing to fully part ways, Lola marrying someone else, Big Mom looking to create alternatives, and Elbaf leaving her in the past. This is what resolution looks like. Just cause it’s not one you like doesn’t mean you can’t call it a resolution.

The unresolved storyline is the world governments mingling in Elbaf for decades which is what we’re focusing on.

We saw nothing of that onscreen despite it had been stated to be an important story point and part of her character, nor her having any interaction with the giants in the main story so yes it's not a proper resolution.

So, from this page, we can deduce that sleeping victims of Killingham's Fruit do not have his Fruit Abilities wear off when doused in water.

This is a crap-ton of water, and they're still asleep, and the monsters are still monsterin'.

However, I think there might be another solution, and Sommers helped produce it.

We know from Thriller Bark that ingesting salt purifies the Zombies, and knocks their shadows out.

Oda made a big point about Sommers and Killingham getting the salt:

In Thriller Bark, Usopp was the one who shot salt into Oars' mouth, but, it wasn't enough to stop the monster.

Usopp stopping the monsters here by feeding the kids salt would be lore-sensible, give Usopp an intelligent feat, and let Usopp do something against the Holy Knights, without actually matching one.

In fact, I think God's Knights will dislike Usopp, purely because his epithet is "God Usopp".

Since Gunko despises insolence, as seen from Loki, Usopp's title being that of "God" will most likely piss her off, foreshadowed by the Celestial Dragons despising God Valley purely for having "God" in the title.
