Zoro was fighting with Kuina with trainings swords, swords that can't cut - for obvious reasons. But that does not change the fighting style, it's stil a sword fight. It's even proofed in the manga, when Zoro fought Kuina with REAL swords. He stil lost, because it's the same thing.
