What proof is there even that Shanks was abandoned at birth or whatever? Shanks was a baby at the time, so if Garling wanted to get rid of him it would be for some reason like his mom or whatever, not because he was weaker. Either way, we know that Shanks is still allowed to visit Mariejois, so he probably isn´t looked down upon by his family, not even Shamrock insults him much.

Only Gunko and Shamrock may attract audience and won't care the rest.
The Gorosei are introduced very early and the build up is there, while they aren't the type of characters to have lots of fans, everyone that follows one piece knows they're huge deal and everytime they shows up , it leads to some world building or lore
So they are one of the crowds main attraction in certain way, add to that they also happens to have cool, threatening fighting power and abilities not just stops at political figure.
So it's unreasonable to think why more fans would ignore them suddenly and starts digging a group of character that just got introduced a year ago and also lower in hierarchy department.

Oda is terrible at writing females uses them as marketing devices or plot devices. So yeah a grown man stanning a female One Piece character usually indicates something is wrong with them, usually being a gooner
