So yes, people are still buying for Switch 2 like crazy. We're talking about pre orders here, so I heavily doubt the Switch 2 will turn into another Wii U like that - as much as I'm not keen on the game price tags.
Nevertheless, it's Japan so the question is how pre orders look in western countries and if Nintendo also sold many copies.

I'm interested to see how many people are just buying the Switch 2 and not the bundle
I expect pre-orders to sell out regardless of world events, but after a couple of months and the hype dies down, how many units sold is intriguing as this baby ain't selling like the Switch imo

Yeah, it isn’t. Switch had everything going for it. This one is significantly more expensive. I think it’ll do numbers but it won’t reach 100m at the end of it’s lifetime.
No but not because of price tag, I think I might have actually made money or at least broke even with switch. After completing a game I'd immediately resell it on ebay and I definitely sold the switch itself for more than I bought it.
But I just think switch mechanics were underutilised. It was a really nice cross between a wii and a gameboy but the gameplay was usually one or the other when it should have been a hybrid. Even breath of the wild could have stood to have some more hybrid options and it was the best game on there by far. I sold it after Scarlet, which was possibly the most forgettable pokemon game of all time... I mean, I don't see why they couldn't at least add a throw pokeball feature it was the perfect time to finally get it.
They were lazy with it and I don't see that changing.

it took PS5 a solid 3 yrs for it to be readily available in-person (I hated that ppl were only able to get it at launch if you were either a celeb, influencer, or "knew someone" via conections). The only reason why I haven't purchased a PS5 to this day is the fact that I have 0 games that I'd actually play on it (used to play NBA 2K but it has severely declined in the past 7-8 years)
Never had the opportunity to buy Switch 1 at launch in 2017 since I waited until Switch Lite/Shield to buy one but I'm hoping the Switch 2 launch isn't as toxic as PS5.
I'm currently a Switch owner and got it during the Midnight Launch at Gamestop--went with my dad.
I've already signed up for the Nintendo Store thing, but I want to try being able to preorder the Switch and pick it up at Gamestop again.
Unfortunately, I will be getting off just before Gamestop closes tomorrow night (AND I have to be in for work an hour before it opens) and I'm just not sure if they'll still have Switches available when I get off work which sucks cause I've been saving up.
