People acting like Kaido getting passed up was some twist out of nowhere haven’t been paying attention to the narrative post-Wano. Oda made it clear Wano was the final arc for the old-gen emperors. Kaido was never meant to be the ceiling, he was the gatekeeper. Once he’s down, the story pivots to the real endgame pieces.

Teach and Akainu are not powercreeping Kaido. They were always above him.

People get too caught up in on-panel feats without understanding narrative structure. Kaido was the peak of the Wano arc, the boss of that arc’s storyline. But Teach and Akainu were never meant to peak there. Their fights are being saved for the final war, where everything, the Pirate King title, the Void Century, Harley prophecies, the World Government, comes crashing down.
