Nothing new, power devaluation is a speciality of One Piece, and of many Shonens in general.

Strong will is the only counter. It ain't that difficult.

They could have directly taken Loki as an ally with this way.

But they had to make Loki Accept then or bent to them for that , Which gorosei did most probably.

If it is being a COC user, still nothing would stop Imu from turning an entire yonko crew into a bunch of immortal powered demons against their captain.

It can affect anyone weaker than Dorry and Broggy.

If Oda intends BB to be the final villian then I could see Blackbeard steals Imu's fruit then amps the rest of the Blackbeard Pirates via Demon Contract.
Dunno if that's repetitive but that's the only way to argue for Blackbeard being the FV imo

I’m pretty sure that he can create great short mangas on a conceptual level and make the characters really great/likeable. Oda can create far better character writing if he really wanted to, you can see how he handles emotional beats in One Piece. Backstories are great, and payoffs are great especially during pre-ts. He handles the characters well enough even though there’s too many of them. Like a random side character within the arc can mog a main character in JJK in terms of personality and development lmfao. I’m not even joking.

Thats my another problem with Oda.
Weak trio should be taken out by now with CoC blasts of such level. Even luffy was affected (Not fainting but Reacting to it) by Warcury CoC roar.
Joyboy reversed Gorosei and Scared IMU.

Atleast chopper type should be taken out.
