The demonic hierarchy certainly is funny considering that Zoro's Asura sits on top.
The only question is - is it too early to kill Imu's hype, the supposedly final villain?
The arrival of LZL(Loki+Zoro+Luffy) trio is certainly gonna be interesting.

I would welcome Zoro vs Loki with open arms but I don't know if it will happen.
Loki is a real deal and I don't think Imu's powers can work on him, unless she tricks him somehow into that devil's contract.
Sanji vs Sommers seems plausible, I can't guess the rest of match-ups but New Giant Pirates are too weak to handle Demon Giant Pirates.

It's really weird now. The strawhats are fighting the ImuGunko and will know how to counter his ability. BB's chance of stealing Imu fruit is getting lower because why would he get a DF that SH knows how to counter.

Whatever fruit Blackbeard gets will not be one that has shown off too much of its own abilities.
That's how re-using of DFs works on important characters with lots of combat exposure.
Oda simply doesn't want to show off the same thing twice. For example, WB has never used a single named attack with Gura so he can show off its named abilities on Blackbeard as well as Awakening of it.
Blackbeard may not be after Imu's DF specifically but he will get one from a participant of the WG war, maybe Loki's DF.

Feels like the Gorosei yokai DFs are just to maintain the theme of them being hellish beings.

We are in the era of DF merchants... Of course the only guy in the world capable of eating multiple ones will be above all other DF merchants. It is common sense. We already saw the blueprint of the big war in Marineford, Blackbeard caused it and reaped the rewards.
Big wars are just a ladder for Blackbeard to climb higher...
