To be clear I don’t think Teach is the final villain, I think he is the post-Imu villain before the real final villain. But he is the closest thing we have to an actual final villain at this point in the series.

To be clear, I think Imu’s role in the EOS war will be similar to Marineford Whitebeard, he will be that super powerful foe everyone gangs up on, but will ultimately be killed and Teach will take that fruit. He is also like a complete inversion of Whitebeard’s character so I think he would work well if that’s what Oda is going for.
