Do you know where he said this, lol? Genuinely an insane thing to think that Oda had a monopoly on showing different countries
but it would explain a lot. Even the Zabuza arc is kind of similar to OP in some ways, but like half of ship is just team 7 chasing around Sasuke, which doesn't even make sense. We definitely could have just had Naruto do his own thing more

Don't forget, if it weren't for dudes like Rayleigh and Kuma, the SHP would all be long dead. Even Sanji's own abusive dad made a sacrifice to save them from the BMP
and even in Egghead, the arc where Kidd and Law are mocked for losing to Yonko, Zoro and Sanji couldn't have even saved their captain it was Franky, the giants and even Kizaru who did that. And at the end of the day, the Gorosei were going to kill Zoro and Sanji if it weren't for Joyboys Haki
