Ever wondered why Shanks and Buggy were always fighting?
It started when Shanks was 6 years old, and for the first time in his life ratted on Buggy
From there it was always downhill, the more he ratted, the more he wanted to rat. And the more he wanted to rat, the more he ratted.
Eventually it became so bad, that his very face began resembling a rat. At that point he decided to go to Mariejois, to his great lord Imu and begged for a cure.
Mighty as he was, Imu could not fully cure him of his disease. He was able to hide the hideous physical changes, but once a rat always a rat, as they say, and Shanks was never again able to stop ratting.
And so he lives, from rat nest to rat nest until the inevitable day comes, and he is stomped to death.
