BRUH WHAT IS THIS PANDA BRUTALITY?!

Exactly lol, iirc Egghead is like the fourth longest arc too I think
Wano
DR
WCI
Egghead

And just none of them are that good...
The longer they get, the much worse they get. Oda told amazing stories in a fraction of these arcs, with way more fighting, story, significant moments, emotional beats, not overly exaggerated, misery porn flashbacks, a lot amazing tonal balance and no flanderisation and ireedemable moments etc, sigh.

I miss when some of the most controversial things in OP were just Absalom, Luffy punching Vivi, Sanji wanting Absas fruit to peep on women too ironically like Absa, the "3 shitty filler arcs" in Thriller Bark, Skypeia and Long Ring Long Island/Foxy arc etc.

One Piece really could have been a masterpiece if it were like 700 chapters. Right now it's just a milked product. The milking has been super obvious since post skip started, just look at the chapter count per arc.

What we consider a relatively small arc these days in Egghead, is literally fucking longer than Skypiea, the longest arc preskip 😂. Like this is objectively a bad product. It's not even hard to prove.
Reminder it took around 800 to 900 chapters for us to see the Gorosei fight and when they did they consistently jobbed because Oda's dumbass tried to juggle five top tiers chasing the Straw Hats

Exactly man and that's an Ourborous/self fulfilling prophecy type issue. I love One Piece but my god, these toxic positive people cause far more problems than they realise or want to admit and acknowlege.

They just showed gameplay of it this month. It was revealed last year for game awards IIRC.
The way I look at one piece is this if you break it down and analyze each piece the characters, the story, the power system(s) etc etc you can point out and pick through the flaws but Oda some how is able to bring it all together in a boiling pot that makes a wonderfully charming story, that still has its flaws but I think despite what people say the good outshines the bad, despite their criticism which is always needed they keep coming back because what they like about one piece outshines what they dont like, be it character agenda, be it fights or even all the unique devil fruit abilities etc etc

I just realized.

Meanwhile Zoro needed COC to beat a YC

Luffy and Sanji didn’t

:shame:
Luffy barely beat yc at wci. Katakuri is not very tanky and he self inflicted more damage wheb he stabbed himself than he took from luffy. Luffy coa at wci is very average according to modern standards.

Queen is weak af. He got one shot by amnsia meme. Anybody can damage him alot

King is very tanky, and even then, zoro completely outmatched his coa with coc and dedtroyed his sword and amputed him

There no way that JJK could keep on going that long the gege did not have in him .
Oda now to down 30 to 35 chapters a year at this point if got cut or speed up thing to get it done so be it .
Gege is a greenhorn to Oda.

He’s also considerably younger.

With the popularity of the series, he was the shoe in as the guy after Oda. He could take breaks, and Jump would have been smart to let him.

JJK could’ve run for 15 years and raked in billions and billions in sales of material, merch and licensing deals.

if you look at Alabasta it is half the length of Wano but has more substance. It was Marineford that ruined One Piece.
The entire Summit War saga which had 5 arcs was about 40 chapters shorter than Wano alone, and roughly the same length as Dressrosa.

Let me repeat that....5 arcs. Five arcs. Saboady, Amazon Lily, Impel Down, Marineford, Post War. Roughly the same length of a single arc about toppling a single Warlord, and 40 chapters shorter than Wano.

That was literally peak One Piece and the sales even reflect it. But it seemed to have rewired Oda's brain or something, so we lost in the long run. Post timeskip is a colossal failure.

That's a very loose connection 😐
That's very strong connection
There are two different instances of Oda illustrating Nami with red hair pirates

Both have tattoo on arm at exact same place. Nami's initial tattoo (Shark tattoo) represents oppression.
After defeat of arlong, Nami changed her tattoo to windmill and mikan tattoo. Which represents laughter and liberation.
Shanks lost his arm because of Luffy which indirectly liberated him

Circle represents World Government and X(skull) represents Pirates.
That's why Nami's outfits have circles majority of times.
One piece logo is same
Circle and X

My theory is that he saw the critical praise of Marineford and tried to repeat that over and over again. the clashes instead of full fights, constant running, plus he wanted to add more lore.

Yeah absolutely man, well said, very eloquently. Its that melting pot nature that makes its so especially wonderful. I remember some memes describing One Piece as the most multi cultural/diverse insane family type thing. How many series have ninjas, pirates, samurai, dinosaurs, robots-cyborgs, giants, angels, demons and devils, ghosts, zombies, skelebros and so on in them?

Thats exactly what I love about One Piece because of the sheer immense, insane variety of it like nothing else. The good does still outweight the bad for sure and I hope that never changes truly. One Piece is not that bad that its actually unreadable and we could drop it. I've dropped many other series but I'll never drop One Piece.

There's a million reasons to and why we love One Piece and that will never change.
