People are complaining about the flashback but I think the timing of it is fine tbh

We’re about to hit the climax of the arc so it’s pretty much now or never

No one would want a flashback in the middle of the invasion (once Zoro/Sanji get to the top and Luffy/Loki join as well) and I doubt anyone would want a lengthy flashback at the very end of the arc either

Gotta do it now or don’t do it at all
Agreed. Understanding Lokis and Hajrudins history especially Haralds history with the WG will add needed context to this entire fight and make the upcoming fight with Imu that much more interesting

No you see we need more aura farming and standing around dumbly :AlexChills:

It’s just one of those things that’s somewhat frustrating while reading weekly but will make the reread much more enjoyable

Sure, I’d love to see our team in the Sun World wreaking havoc but I also understand that Oda’s trying to tell a story. Lacking context going into the major conflict of the arc would be awful

It's literally been the same structure each arc for the past 20 or so years, complaining about it now it's like eating almost all the food on a plate and when there's only one bite left you're like " nah i'm not eating any of this sh** "

Don’t get me wrong I hope the flashback is quick but I enjoyed the Kuma flashback, so hopefully the Loki and Harald ones fun at least

What we need is an update outside Elbaf
We aren’t getting one till Elbaf is over imo

I know the structure usually allows Oda to give us a look into the outside world a few times an arc but Elbaf is different

I think the whole point of the time dilation is Oda setting up a plot twist at the end. We’ll find out a lot happened while the Strawhats were occupied in Elbaf

Cross Guild has multiple rubbings (if not all 3), the BBP’s are more powerful, the Revo’s have their invasion planned and it might’ve begun, etc

People just want the main plot to move at this point.

As Yasheen said this is probably Oda’s best paced arc since what… Zou?

Excluding the first 5 chapters that we wasted on the Lego Kingdom nonsense Elbaf’s pacing has actually been great

We’re likely clearing this entire flashback in 5-6 chapters max which puts us at 32-33 chapters

Just compare this arc to Egghead which was 68 chapters and you’ll see we’re actually moving pretty fast

I feel like the pacing slowed down after Zoro removed Loki's handcuffs. But I hope you're right about the flashback length.

I mean Elbaf has been a fairly fast moving arc? Let’s be honest here the arc started like 26 chapters ago. We’re just in what would be the third volume of Elbaf and we already have a lot of things actually happening
If you don't count Gaban vs Sommer fight, I'd say this arc is the slowest in term of fights. More than 25 chapters in and the M3 hasn't fight anyone yet.
By this time in Egghead we got Law vs BB, M3 vs Cp9, SH vs Seraphins, Aokiji vs Garp, Shanks vs Kid and Kizaru and Saturn we pulling up.
