Barcelona really needs a young, talent, motivated team to push them forward right now.
As most of the players in this match, even Messi were very sluggish, showing no desire.
Puig, Pedri, Trincao, Ansu are all high potential youngsters, combine with De Jong as well. But they need some talent defenders as well, since this match showed that lenglet and pique are very inconsistent, same as semedo, Alba as well.
Suarez was kinda good this match, at least he seems better than Messi in this match. But he’s old and slow now, so it would be best for ansu, trincao to step up next season.
As for Messi, I think his time in Barca is not gonna be much longer now, since he looks very tired in an important match like this. As a results of carrying the whole team every season, it’s not very surprising that he lost his touch in the more crucial match like this.
And as long as dependence of Messi is still a thing, Barca may find it very difficult to win CL, with examples showing 4 seasons now they got beaten easily with large margins (3-0 vs Juve, 3-0 vs Roma, 4-0 vs Liverpool, and 8-2 vs Bayern).
