I can see him having done a less extreme twerkbull from Shanks aura farming.
Shanks is 20 years younger than Kaido and was the newcomer yonko, there must be a reason why Kaido held as much respect for Shanks as he did for Xebec/Roger/WB and the guy that almost killed him.

Kaido fans really deluded themselves into thinking Shanks being included there didn't mean much

literally every character there had been superior than Kaido at some point but Shanks, that wasn't a coincidence

So rookie Xebec killed an Admiral for fun but child Loki survives the hands of pissed prime Xebec because he was as durable as Kaido.

Maybe Xebec unconditional attack was too much for the Admiral that wasn't really intended for a killing blow
