Film Red made me believe Shanks is a terrible person and an even worse character and also made me question Oda's sanity

I don't even read it anymore!!! I just skim the spoilers. That's how not dedicated I am, and I think a lot of bros here in Worstgen feel the same way!

Name the worst thing Oda has done to this once amazing story! Although none of us can remember when it was amazing anymore. I guess it was when we met Ace and Luffy didn't really do anything yet. That's when this story was good. It was when we had no idea what anybody was really doing.

He messed up everything with postTS.

New world is nothing different from grandline, just same boring islands with no danger.
The power system is the most shallow and convoluted mess despite being just punch harder and react better. He just needed to add basic shit like sfx and visuals like bubbles to differentiate different haki being used.

Strawhats are now 2nd worst part of the series. He has no idea what to do with them.
And the worst part is him introducing fuckload of fodder every arc, Dressrosa being the worst with colosseum fodder, making the arcs bloated and following characters we barely care and arcs taking up 100 chapters.

No, people are just overreacting as usual.
You know, the usual "the sequel is worse" sheningans.

The newer stuff is always considered worse literally everywhere you go. Now comes the question: does the math check out? Are people really incapable of creating good sequels? No, it's just the audience themselves. The math doesn't check out.
It can happen sometimes, sure. But when you see this for literally every ficiton in existence, you eventually realize, sequels aren't actually that bad, it's just people with nostalgia goggles, or just wanting to have a trendy opinion.


One Piece is still fun, in fact it only blew up really at Marineford, and kept a good engagement ever since.

Oda drags his arcs too much because of some useless characters. Overall it's not that bad but a weekly reading is not a good pace for OP.

Egghead was needless dragged on for no reason. We had this hype about Vegapunk revealing the. Secrets of the world and all he did was give out hypotheses for everything. Wano was an absolute dumpster fire. The calamities were mid, Kaido’s backstory was insulting, and all the focus on Gary Stu- I mean Oden was blindingly shallow.l and unnecessary.

Dressrosa was good only for Doffy and Law parts

WCI was peak until wedding cake

Wano was trash all throughout

Egghead was mid

Elbaf is good so far. Holy knights carried hard tho until Xebec who is carrying the flashback

-Elbaph is good.
-Wano wasnt bad,it was just too long and too much focused on the Samurai and local characters who were not charismatic enough. But the parts with the Strawhats and Supernovas were good
-Egghead started well but ended badly,with the awful Vegapunk message scam and once again no consequences whatsoever since Vegapunk is still alive and the Gorosei are still five etc. and even if at the time i liked the flashback,now with time i realized that making Bonney a kid was basically ruin her character for the sake of Kuma's charachterization so i dont like this very much, altough its surely a moving father/daughter story. So yeah Egghead is kinda bad
-I loved Punk Hazard at the time. Not too short,Law is cooler than ever,and the part where the Strawhats are in different bodies Is brilliant. Underated arc
-Dressrosa is like Wano. Bad when focused on not-charismatic side characters,good with Strawhats and Law moments
-Fishman Island is lame,true. Just a show-off arc for the characters post-timeskip powers. Great flashback though
