The execution being on Wano is possible but I thought you needed to break the barriers/walls to find the ancient weapon ? Wouldn't that render Wano kinda ass in term of defense since that's what marines waited for ? Wouldn't new Marineford be a better option since it's probably gonna be emptied to go defend Mariejoie ?

You are completely correct, the Borders will be destroyed when Pluton is activated. BUT! Fun fact:
Caribou has no idea that Pluton destroys Wano's Borders, which will come to bite him in his swamp ass eventually, no doubt.
Let's refer to Chapters 1055 and 1056:
1055, when Law and Robin discuss Pluton with Sukiyaki at the bottom of Wano:
1056: When Robin discusses Pluton with the Crew, Shinobu and Tama interrupt, and Caribou overhears:
Caribou DOES NOT KNOW that Pluton will Destroy Wano's Borders when Activated.
Teach/Cross Guild will have to choose between Wano, and Pluton, and they'll choose the Ancient Weapon, because it can A: Destroy Marijoa, and B: Take them to Laugh Tale/One Piece.
I believe Wano's volcano will erupt again due to Linlin's CoC Roars and Teach's Gura Gura quakes triggering seismic eruptions in Wano's underground, along with Teach's Gura Gura Quakes ALSO blowing up the bombs still in Onigashima (unless the Samurai were fucking nuts and took them out).
This will trigger a VOLCANIC KNOCK UP STREAM, and lift Wano into the air, making it a Sky Island that can travel freely through Momo's Flame Clouds; making it a truly free nation without Borders, Oden's Dream.
