But what if say ratchet did not take any action that night? wouldn't your ability be obsolete?

Well, if I got killed by scum cuz they thought I‘m a Hider and target you it would clear you.

She made a point to say "I'm targeting Ratchet" several times which only really makes sense if she could die AND her targeting me would out me if she did. Otherwise all it does is reveal the action to scum.
