Speculations The Final Defense of Marijoa ?

#23
We saw imu using gunko's arrow to hit cobra. Seems he has some insane df related powers. He might be the literal Devil from the Devil fruits.
If that's so, then maybe that's why DFs are weak to sea?

Imu might be the earth god, and his nature has given them that weakness (earth hates sea), as well as causing their bad taste.

It might also be why haki counters DFs, since you're essentially fighting off Imu's influence with your will.

Tbh that does make it concerning like...if Imu's beaten, will all the DFs just disappear? That'd be lame as hell tbh because we'd only have haki then.

Imu himself. He's the strongest in Marijoa so you could sneak in or defeat all the HK, Gorosei and admirals but you'll still have to defeat Imu afterwards.

The statues can't be stronger than Imu if he's the one controlling them.

I'm pretty sure it's confirmed by the fans that Imu created all the devil fruits so ya if you beat him they all disappear

@Zoinks52 i can see it being revealed that the statues were ones made in honor of the Twenty Kings, and that their bodies are buried underneath it and they will be resurrected in Imu's time of crisis

would be kinda recycling ideas from Thriller Bark but ehh
I did consider that too.
:BigW:
They were probably strong bois since they were part of the big war and such. Statues might be enchanted to preserve their possessed bodies maybe.

Possible
They could be simple statues or they could be used to fight, doesn't have to be Imu himself even, it can be the ability of a god knight or his female servant we keep seeing to awaken them and she could be defeated by Usopp in a repeat of his sugar fight where he saves everyone.
Bro,jokes aside, Kong being super relevant at this point, after Imu and the Gorosei stepped in the scene, it would just be bizarre
What do you think he does then?
Like it or not, he's obviously a top tier and has to fight someone. You think Oda just ignores him? He's not getting an arc to himself obviously but at some point during the final war a giant 🦍 will show up causing havoc and get defeated.
Possible opponents:
Jinbe + Franky tag team? Loki? Fuji?

Everything when it comes to art Piece in OP represents a version of it in reality
:quest:
Yeah, it's amazing from how many different sources he draws his inspiration from. The fun part is always trying to figure out from where exactly.

Thanks to Oda, I've read about topics I never had any interest in. Like the history of real life piracy, or our solar system and the planets, because that was also a theme, and many other things.

I hate to use this word, but it's almost as if Oda is trying to educate us through theory crafting. Which in hindsight seems silly to think about, because of his recent talk where he said he doesn't like theories or people who make theories at all in that radio programme, resulting in Yuderon's YouTube channel's retirement.

That was a little head scratcher, but that is what it is, I guess.

:kayneshrug:
I have read same theory here before.
Oh, I would be shocked if there weren't theories about this already. That's why I never claim that I came up with something first. It is bound to happen with One Piece that people will come up with the same things as you before. And we are just a small part of the fandom here. Imagine the millions of fans around the globe. Each individual had ideas or thought about something before regarding One Piece.

I am more interested in engaging in discussions with other people, and I have already seen some cool ideas from people exchanging with each other here. That's the best part about theories to me.

:shocking:

I think most "theories" abuse the story in some way.

Like the Imu Mommy theory, not my own, was sexualizing the story.

A lot of other theories are just about making 1 person super powerful

So ya if I was Oda, I would also hate meme theory material.

Memes by themselves abuse pretty much everything they are involved with sooo

It's pretty much the entire point of them- to abuse things

Without memes, One Piece wouldn't be popular in the west. One Piece fans from the west are cancer.

Imagine trying to enjoy Harry Potter but the only people you could enjoy it with were people who knew Harry Potter through Snape memes. It would be pretty shitty. That's basically how One Piece is, right now.

I can totally see Oda working with it.

The big question would be if those things would use haki.

I guess not. So it would be opponents for the weaker ones.
Hm, yeah why not. I liked the teamwork the straw hats had when they fought Oars on thriller barc. Here they could show off again.

Getting creative and beat them with clever tricks, and not just with brute strength.

Funny of you to say that when brute strength is literally what was used against Oars. Sure only Nightmare Luffy outmatched Oars strength but Zoro used his sheer strength to redirect a hit from Oars. Sanji the same to make Oars fall. And Luffy to break his face.
