My gripe is Oda is just not a very effective adventurous/tragic romance writer. He writes women like literal objects the way a horny 15 year old would, as he intends to for his audience because it is a teen's story after all. Just makes the story less compelling.

I think the Kuma flashback show he can do tragic romance in a small amount since that was part of it .
But IMO the story better off not having romance since that can end up as train wreck .
Even more so with OP since they don't stay one place long .
So any long term romance would have to be with the crew but there dynamic as friends\famliy better .
