Now look at Zephyr, an former prestigious Admiral, now an ruthless veteran marine whose lost his faith on Navy and Government fighting his own students.

Zephyr is simply the best antagonist in an OP movie. Even better than Shiki/Tesouro/Bullet/Uta. It's a shame that one os best OP material scenes(Kuzan singing) is not even canon.

We know the cause of the god valley incident… it’s that random 6 year old salve girl Ginny. Remember we saw her calling the pirates to come and loot The CDS on god valley

That one girl is the reason this whole thing happened

Outside of that, the Rocks pirates came to God valley to get back their treasure, Shakky… and Roger came to God valley because he was salty that Shakky had joined the rocks pirates… And Garp went to God valley because he’s in a bromance with Roger.

That’s all. This is how the incident STARTED but obviously it became much more consequential afterwards

We saw in linlin’s backstory that John Giant had already joined the marines.

So there were giant marines at this time, the WG was just super selective over which giant they recruited.

John was an orphan. The other giant marine we somewhat know the origins of is Saul, who we specifically know is not from Elbaf.

My guess is the WG was trying to ensure that giant marines weren’t going to be Nika sympathizers. Hence avoided elbaf giants, who knew of Nika.
