Which is it? Is being a gene merchant downplay or upplay?
This is massive for Katakuri’s character, up until now we never had any indication at all that he was on Rocks’s ship or crew, and while he may not be an official Rocks Pirate since he looks like he’s like 8, the fact that he grew up watching the strongest pirate in history is huge upscale for not only him but for his brothers as well.
There are far too many retards in this fandom who downplay the Big Mom Pirates for literally no reason, see the comment I cited above lmfao. Reminder that the prime Roger Pirates couldn’t beat the rookie Whitebeard Pirates and ducked a fight with the Big Mom Pirates.
And don’t even tell me that was because of Big Mom, Whitebeard treated her like the fodder she is this chapter. Lol

Katakuri: Strongest of his family, had major character focus in an arc where he even overshadowed Big Mom, fought against Luffy which gave him more focus.
And now we found out that he along with Perospero, Daifuku, and Oven were part of the Rocks Pirates as well.
They must have learned how to fight during that time.

Barely got any focus, only started to get focus once he started fighting Zoro
Gets defeated
Recovers then gets defeated again by Giga Bull.
