Zephyr's whole thing is that he was a idealist that dreamed to be a hero and got broken by life and the WG/marine screwing him over.
It's still stupid though, him getting tricked as a marine rookie is one thing, but by this time he already had several decades of experience as a marine and should know what these criminal scums are like.

And Sasori>>3rd Kazekage so even if you want to say that War Arc Gaara might be somewhat stronger than the 3rd Kazekage, Sasori is still stronger

Birka is also loosely connected to ELbaph through real life lore, I'm really thinking we'll see Enel in Elbaph sooner or later. But, like I've said, I think we'll leave Elbaph for Pluton, then return after Pluton is Activated.

Oh yeah, I've read that Birka was an important real-life place in Scandinavia during the Vikingage. That's awesome. Almost forgot about this. So the connections are there, nice.

War Arc Gaara low diffed his dad

We don’t even know the circumstances behind Sasori killing the 3rd Kazekage, though it being a fair fight is the least likely possibility. He probably poisoned and/or ambushed him when he was alone

Idk, maybe he was sentimental because he lost his family, or he was losing loyalty to the ¨marines¨ at that point or something

Well it does say the pirate saying they had a family is what made him release them because of his past.
But I have a hard time excusing him feeling pity for a pirate scum, this wasn't some innocent civilian
