Powers & Abilities Why Blackbeard Knows Caribou is Honest About Pluton/Poseidon: Laffitte's Hypnosis

I feel like some people debate whether or not Teach will move on Shirahoshi/Pluton, despite being himself, because of Caribou being some random Pirate with a small bounty for the New World.

Teach doesn't need to trust Caribou, at all: Laffitte can freaking hypnotize people.

All Teach needs to do is ask Laffitte to hypnotize Caribou, and Teach will be able to guarantee the locations of two Ancient Weapons.

Teach is going after Shirahoshi/Pluton, the only question is when.

And, knowing Blackbeard? It's going to be sooner rather than later.

Going after Pluton is fairly reasonable considering it's access is simply about removing the barriers, which he coincidentally has the perfect power for.

Going after Shirahoshi is way riskier because she's thousands of meters deep under the sea and she could just start crying and hundreds of sea kings will show up to fuck their ship up. This is a challenge even with Lafitte's hypnosis, assuming he can use it on her. However, wouldn't be surprised if some kind of collateral destruction (red line?) forces her to the surface, where she becomes much more vulnerable to kidnapping because sea kings become less of a threat at the surface to them.

Shiryu could just turn the ship invisible.

Lafitte needs to buff his hypnosis skill up before they even consider going after Shirahoshi. It's one thing to hypnotize someone to do your bidding, it's another thing to brainwash someone without anyone knowing and activating them with a codeword like the Manchurian Candidate.

There surely must've been a better devil fruit out there for Lafitte but instead he went with another goddamn bird zoan.

Kurohige has so many useful crewmates he knew what he was doing when he recruited them
Xebec tried to pave the way using raw strength. Seeking the strongest pirates around and feeding a DF Harald who is the strongest non-affilated king. Then he went to publicly antagonize the government

Teach almost certainly read up on Xebec's rise and fall to avoid repeating these mistakes.

>He's not building a crew revolving around strength only, he's building one that is also suitable for some kind of assassination mission (invisibility, cloning, teleportation, environment control etc...)

>He's trying to publicly establish himself as a government ally using Garp, to clear any suspicions of him aiming at Imu's throne + gaining access to something that normally he can't.

>Most important thing; He's actively scouting for Poneglyphs and Ancient Weapons, something we never saw Xebec do. Xebec believed gathering all the powerful people there are is enough. Gigabeard foresaw Imu's divine power or read the Harley text and deduced that old civilization powers are the only way to bring him down.

It depends on how the Abyss works. Catarina can turn into Saturn and should be able to use his Mark. If the Abyss lets you go to anywhere you've been before, almost all New World Pirates have passed through Fish-Man Island.

If Catarina can open an Abyss portal/circle like Shamrock did in Elbaph, Fish-Man Island is getting taken over by Teach. Kuzan freezing shit helps here, too.

I think Shirahoshi will escape, though.

I'd bet my left sperm factory that it's some mythical zoan bird that can do special stuff with the hypnosis. Oda's kept his fruit hidden for a reason I think.
Or maybe he just ate the seagull fruit. In which case I'll be rocking a solo sack.

I didn't even think about the abyss portal with Devon using Saturn's face. If it works like a super teleport (stronger than Augur's) then it'd make for a real smooth exit and entry.
