Speculations So have Smoker, Hina and Tashigi been completely passed over in favor of the SWORD Marines?

We know the SWORD Marines are being built up as the new generation that will play a big role in the organization's future. So I have to ask, what role will the classic Pre-TS Marines play in the final war and beyond?

Is Tashigi confined to her daycare job forever or will she chase her dream of getting the meito blades out of evildoer hands?

Will Smoker get his get back at Doflamingo when he's inevitable busted out of Impel Down?

Will Hina finally leave her lunchlady post at the New Marineford cafeteria?

Tashigi is hopeless; she was in hachinosu with others and was treated like a background character, below randoms like Hibari. Oda has been hiding Smoker, and I think the last time he was mentioned, Tashigi said something about him focusing on training, so he may still have a more or less relevant role. Hina has never been a prominent character, and that probably won't change; she will be as important to the future as Kawamatsu.

Ditto with @RiShin above me.
Nothing has really changed with Coby from what we already kinda knew with him Pre-ts.
"He dreams of becoming a Marine Admiral"
"He's being trained by Garp"
"His growth rate is very fast"
Only addition post-ts is the "Hero" of the Rocky Port incident

All of those tings existed when Oda was doing all of the things he was doing with Smoker Pre-ts and even when he had him chase down Luffy to Punk Hazard. So like @RiShin already said, Oda most likely has other plans for him.

From inception Oda's always written Smoker as a marine that has kinda toed the line between what he believes the marines to be and the reality of what they actually are and is constantly put in situations where he either has to be a good little soldier or go with what he thinks is right. In that sense he's very similar to Aokiji.

Aokiji was unable to kill Robin, and he also failed to kill Saul as well and even after reaching the pinnacle of the Marines as an Admiral he decided to quit and look for the answers he was searching for elsewhere.

I'm Team Loki for Nakama atm, but I'm still honestly holding out for the possibility of Smoker joining the SHs kinda like how Aokiji joined Teach.
Regardless even if it doesn't go the route I hope for I don't think Smoker's journey is done yet. This is a character Oda's put a lot of effort into developing/writing so it's gonna have to come full circle at some point.

genuinely surprised about Smoker & Tashigi since they were technically Luffy & Zoros first marine rivals

Tashigi's dream is too unrealistic given her level of progress and strength. The loss to Robin was crushing, but you would think it would have led to significant growth. However, she was humiliated by Law 2 years later. In both fights, she offered no real challenge. And she was even on the losing end against Monet. If you take her dream at face value, she would need to be near WSS level to accomplish such a task. That's never going to happen.

But I could see Zoro supporting her dream by giving her Shodai Kitetsu after winning it from Nusjuro. He doesn't need more than 3 swords, and the Gorosei are the most evil men in the world. They control the justice that Marines like Tashigi are forced to enforce. In a way, she would have played a role in Nusjuro's defeat since she picked out Sandai Kitetsu for Zoro's journey. So, Tashigi picked Sandai Kitetsu for Zoro, and he eventually will win her Shodai Kitetsu.

At this point Helmeppo probably has a faster growth rate than Tashigi since he runs parallel to Koby. If Koby is the next generation's Garp then Helmeppo is going to be his Bogard.

I think the case of smoker joining the S.hs just got higher now that Rock of all people say Garp should of been a pirate. Roger wanted Garp to join him too. And to show how Luffy can be refactoring better is if he can get his former Marine rival to join his crew.

Completely passed over no...
But the two got their arcs in which they were basically main cast, and they were already too weak to have the relevance that some people expect of them.
Smokers relationship with Luffy is similar to Roger-Garp but he never had the power to endanger him post-TS.
Having said that, they will be part of past final arc Marines alongside Fuji.

honestly Smoker and Tashigi should've been Vice Admirals Pre Timeskip, and then Post Timeskip they should've been the Admiral Candidates. Especially Tashigi based on her dream.
