I’d consider it canon, however, it’s not a transformation goku can do on his own and needs power of the demon realm to trigger hence why it would never have been used in super.

It's coherent with Super. Both Akira and Toyatoro wrote Super, more than likely it will be fit in somehow by the end of daima

Tying the Great Ape back into the Super Saiyan mythos was a genius move, down to the furry coat that SSJ4 displays.

SS4 was the dopest transformation, and I am dying on that hill.

Big fax, was nice addition going back to saiyan roots for transformation, the only exception I may make to such transformation is maybe Gohan/Trunks/Gotten who are half saiyans so maybe more possibilities for different paths of power ups, but for full saiyans like Goku and Vegeta? Absolutely yes.

Visually looks badass as well.
