But it gets even better. They're the underlings of a literal silhouette named the "Father" who in return is an underlings of yet an even more vil silhouette named "Grandfather".

The Delightful Children From Down The Lane scale higher than the Gorosei in power though… that’s the only issue with this theory.

So, you're saying they're all secretly mind controlled good guys?

...Which, given Imu's Domi Reversi powers, that's actually a strong possibility.

So, if Imu is "Father", I guess that means Imu is actually Luffy's great-great (etc) grand-uncle? Which again...possible.

...This actually lines up FAR better than it should. Just a reminder though, Kids Next Door started in 2002. 5 years after One Piece started in 1997. So the only reasonable answer is...Oda time travelled!

Look, Oda probably has SOMETHING playing in the background while he works around the clock. And he DOES seem to be a fan of classic cartoons, if One Piece's art style says anything. I could see him listening to this as he was drawing. There's a non-zero possibility that he was a low-key fan of the show.
