internet as it exists even now, is by and large free and anonymous. Because there's some laws protecting your digital privacy. So governments can't just come out and say "we were watching you on the internet". Cause there would be backlash for that.
But, if they use religion and "kids watching porn" etc as excuses to rile up certain communities and groups of people, they can pass laws that censor our access to the free internet without any pushback at all. Because "the people themselves voted for this and wanted this".
So any kind of checks and balances against govt violation of our digital privacy would be thrown out the window.
It's the free market, their job to make money, and parents responsibilities to control and raise their child which there are many ways to control them, one of them being maybe don't enable them to buy that stupid shit, like giving them money maybe? Add parental control over their phone etc.

As an android user I got fucking annoyed by this, probably used their products for decades, in the last they had better shit the only thing good on my current phone is the amount of space it has, but it runs like shit, the touch screen is shit too, the protective thing that came over it got ruined fast etc.

People need to understand that content restriction for minors doesn't mean content restriction for minors but forcing everyone to provide their government id to random corporations that want to sell our data. Same with social media restriction. There's videos on yt I can no longer watch because I have no account and yt's censorship as to what is appropriate for minors to see is ridiculous. Creators even have to blur out private parts on ARTISTIC DEPICTIONS OF PREHISTORIC HOMINIDS that look more ape than human, out of fear their video gets demonetized. This has reached insane levels.
If you're a parent that can't read a book to your child you should set the kid up for adoption and delete yourself. Whenever I only so much as read about idiots who plant their 1 year olds before a device and do not interact with them I'm about to lose my fucking mind.

I think you are partly right and partly wrong (in my opinion)
I agree that parental is the most important things :
if you are seeing your kid all day long in front of violent video games it’s your call to stop it. And one or two violent video games doesn’t change much about you if you have a stable life outside and doesn’t spend every minute playing.
It’s your parent duty to control and put parental control in cellphones against porn etc.
But we have to admit it’s fucking difficult and we can’t control everything. It’s impossible. And it’s also the role of the state to help things being controlled. And help parent tasks.
It’s so easy to consume porn, in two clicks you have access to any porn website without any problems or security.
And all parents aren’t perfect, all parents aren’t bulletproof, and people can have problems and be less attentive for so many reasons (it’s their problems but it happens everywhere and every time)
If one parent is aware and control strictly what his child is looking at but the other didn’t then in school the second one can show porn picture to the other and everyone, or sending them on Snapchat WhatsApp etc
So the state has to help and make it more difficult to access those sites
Obviously it’s the dose that make the poison and 13/14 watching bits of porn isn’t really that much of a problem but it’s also true that current porn can be a problem for young person and can change their perception of what a normal sex relation should be. And consuming it too young it can create problems
