Like I said, it takes one hell of a storyteller to to be able to recount the events you weren't even there for

We've seen this with characters like Buggy/Franky: get hype opening, then reveal weird traits.
Reveal backstory/other information to make the character look super cool again.
Biggest key to this is Marijoa with Sabo and a Few Good Men: if Aramaki was actually a racist asshole, he would have just shielded the CDs through his Fruit then attack the Revs. Instead, he picks a fight with Fuji, that lets all the slaves escape.
Nah, Green Bull is a good dude pretending to be evil. Wouldn't be shocked if he and Fuji did a whole act in Marijoa to help slaves escape.
